New Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion Trailer

Wow, great trailer. Now the long wait until Autumn 09 :( I wish this was in the Arcades near me, so I could at least try it. I still wish it was PS3 only but … oh well. As long as it doesn’t effect the PS3 version, I guess it’s ok.

! Metal Gear Online Demo !

If you don’t have MGS4 and want to try MGO, now is your chance! It’s under new demos on the PlayStation Store. I personally love the game. The game has a LOT of depth to it. A lot of different skills, you can earn points to buy new things for your character. Actually the main games I play at the moment are MGO and LittleBigPlanet. If your in the North American MGO server, add me. I’m xBerserker on MGO. Sadly the MGO servers are region locked though :(

This game does have a learning curve, so give it some time!. Some tips for you:

* Go into the training area, and tweak your settings until your happy with them
* Try some CQC in training
* Turn auto-aim off
* Aim in 3rd person view and try to go for the head shot

This is not a run and gun game! Don’t run around in the open very long, you’ll regret it. This is a squad / tactical shooter. Some of the new game modes in the MEME Expansion are great. Stealth Death Match is very fun, everyone has stealth enabled. May sound boring, but the level actually starts to constrict to a very small circle. So it forces everyone to come together. And the central point is random.

Now there is a MGO Tournament that happens every weekend around 1900 and 2200. You can earn items for your character if you win 1st or 2nd place. The items can only be earned in Tournaments. Be sure to check out Survival, the days it happens change. Right now I think it’s Wednesday - Friday night.

I know their is a lot of hate surrounding MGO, but I don’t get it. It’s very fun, yes it’s very unique, but that’s why I love it. What other game can you run around in cardboard boxes and place adult magazines to “distract” your enemies. There is even “man launchers” at least that’s what I call it, lol.

Yes the Konami ID is a drag, I wish it was integrated into the PSN. But after you set it up you never have to remember you log in really. It remembers it for you. The last survey I took about the game asked about different payment methods for expansion packs. One option was the PSN Wallet. So who knows, maybe PSN integration is coming? At least try the demo for a while before you knock it.

I’m not sure what modes are in the Metal Gear Online demo, so let us know.

Konami is also launching a contest around the MEME Expansion:

“Additionally, Metal Gear fans can now purchase Metal Gear Online - MEME Expansion and have the opportunity to win a limited edition, Metal Gear Online Happy New Year T-Shirt. MEME Expansion contains a vast amount of content including new maps, special characters, new skills, new customizable characters, funny avatar parts and more. 1,200 randomly selected players will win one of three different styled in-game shirts, which will be distributed on January 5th, 2009. Metal Gear Online is available for a SRP of $9.99 through MGOnline’s in-game shop. For more information please visit: http://www.konami.com.”

How to get Namco Arcade Cabinets in Home

First off don’t download it from the Japanese PlayStation store. Download it from the Hong Kong store. Why because the Arcade Cabinets only work with the Hong Kong version. So make a HK PSN account and search for a big N, it should be under New Releases still. Download it, but only play it under your own personal account, so the stuff you unlock can be used in Home.

There are 4 games to play, and since it’s a beta, only the first 2 stages are available. You can play Pac-Man, Galaga , Dig Dug, and Xevious. There are 4 unlockables for each game. I managed to get them all finally. It also unlocks things to decorate your pad, plus t-shirts, pants, and a hat.

A note though, in order for your guests to play the arcade cabinets, they need to have the HK Namco Museum Beta on there PlayStation 3. But when you play the games in Home, it actually launches the Namco Museum Beta application, but it takes you right to that game. I wish it was like the arcade cabinets in the bowling ally, where it just zooms into the screen and you play. But since this is a Beta, maybe the final release with support this. I hope they bring it to all the regions. It’s a great idea! Here is what they look like, click photos for a full size view.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Game

The movie is coming out in May 09 last I saw. But will this be a good Wolverine game? The last one was “Wolverines Revenge” for PS2. It wasn’t bad, I liked the stealth aspect and using Wolverines senses.

Only info on this game right now is a screen shot. But what I would like to see is more stealth, since he is very good at that when need be, and more brutal gameplay. What I think would be cool is when he gets hurt you can actually see it, and when he heals you can see the progression of it. Then use his claws to destroy the environment in realistic ways and climb up objects with his claws.

I’m a huge Wolverine fan, so I’m hoping this game delivers. I even have my own Wolverine claws, they are a backup pair on the first X-Men movie set, that wasn’t used. Anyway, what do you want to see in a Wolverine game?

Rumor: T-Minus 9 days until Home Open Beta?

The Times Online seems to think Home is coming by December 17th. Not sure where they got that date. But you never know, Sony has reaffirmed a couple times that the Home Open Beta is still coming in 2008. I would hope it’s out before the holidays at least.

I wonder if they’ll add more content to the online stores in home when it hits open beta. I want to get that Japanese style home :)

Trine for PSN

This game looks very interesting! Check it out, due in Spring 2009 on the PlayStation Network and the PC. I love the music in the trailer too. Trine is developed by a Finnish developer Frozenbyte, and they have people in the staff that worked on Super Stardust HD. Looks like we have another unique new hit coming to the PSN :)

Trine™ is a fantasy action game where the player can create and use physics-based objects to beat hazardous puzzles and threatening enemies. Set in a world of great castles and strange machinery, three heroes are bound to a mysterious device called the Trine in a quest to save the kingdom from evil…

The gameplay is based on fully interactive physics - each character’s different ability helps the player battle an army of un-dead and defeat hazardous contraptions. The player can at any time freely choose whoever is best suited for the upcoming challenge or puzzle: The Wizard is able to summon objects to help solve puzzles and create new ways to overcome obstacles, the Thief uses her agility and dead-on accuracy to swiftly surprise the monsters, and the Warrior unleashes mayhem and physical destruction wherever he goes.

Killzone 2 Single Player Compaign Vids

There are a LOT of video at the link below. I only watched parts of 2 separate videos. One at the start of the game and one in the desert. The game looks stunning! I’m actually going to stop watching any more videos until it’s release in Feb 09. I don’t want to spoil myself. But feel free to discuss the videos here.

Red Bull Aeroplane Racing in Home

Red Bull will have the first advertising space in Home. That’s the biggest photo I could find though sorry. Hopefully it’s ready for when Home goes open Beta sometime this month.

Red Bull has built a tropical island, featuring an aeroplane racing game based on Red Bull’s real world Red Bull Air Race series.

I hope more dedicated spaces like this are coming. This is exactly the type of stuff that needs to continue to happen to keep peoples interest in Home over time. Home is fun when you have friends to share it with online, don’t get me wrong, but I’m thinking way down the road.

The level is more for fans of Studio Ghibli. I spent a lot of time on this, mostly because I didn’t know what I was doing, lol.
