New PlayStation Home Video

Honestly it’s hard to stay excited about home when it’s been in Beta for what 1 1/2 - 2 years? They are expanding the closed Beta it in July, so good luck to you all. The Open Beta is November last I heard. I try not to think about it much, to make the wait less painful. E3 will be very interesting this year.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm has Japanese and English voices!

This was a major selling point for me. If it only had English voices I’d pass. It’s that bad. But they said you can choose either. The demo will be out on Qore July 3rd. I haven’t bought a issue of this yet. Have you?

But if you can wait until E3 you can download the demo for free then. I’ll think I’ll wait. Skip to the 23:40 mark to watch the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm segment.

Please bring a Bleach game to the PS3 :)

Life with PlayStation [Update: Video]

It is basically a interactive globe. You can view current news and weather for places all over the world. Listen to your own music stored on the PS3. I would personally use this from time to time. I hope you can set up certain locations that pull up by default when it launches.

From the rough translation on the site. It seems that the globe will actually display live clouds as the weather changes. More photos at the link below.

Sony’s Transforming Controller? [Update]

If you can’t view the video go here

This looks like a interesting idea, not sure if this is real or not though. We’ll probably find out at E3 soon enough. I think it would be fun if it’s applied correctly. But I don’t want every game to turn into a Wii game either.

[Update]

Seems the video is 2 years old. But we do know that Sony is working on a motion controller of some sort.

Call of Duty 5 set in World War II

I never got any of the previous Call of Duty games because I was sick of all the WWII games. But I loved Call of Duty 4, and CoD5 is built on the same engine as CoD4. The game will be based in World War II, and is much more brutal, see below:

“Also, this is how gritty it is: ‘The opening scene of the first level we are shown is a Japanese commander stubbing a cigarette out in the eye of a prisoner before slitting his throat - the blood splatters and dribbles down the side of the tent you are being held in. He turns towards you to deal out the same treatment but help arrives just in time. Cue a daring level-long escape.’”

It will also have co-op, seems likes that’s a big buzz word this year, which is good. Multiplayer will have vehicles and squads too. There are a lot of shooters coming out later this year / early next. This one is a big maybe for me right now.

CoD5 has co-op, vehicles in multiplayer, CoD4 engine, every format apart from PSP

PS3 and in game advertisments

I don’t mind advertisements in game as long as it fits well. For sports games, racing games, etc. This is perfect and I don’t mind at all. For example in Burnout Paradise, there is a Gillette van that drives around the city, I find it funny actually.

Even if a game takes place in a city and there are ads, like there would be in a real city, that’s fine. But if it starts to invade action or fantasy games where it isn’t appropriate than I’m very against that.

The ads will also be dynamic so they can be changed at any time as well. But if this makes the PS3 more attractive to developers then I’m for it. Just don’t go overboard with it Sony.
